Social Content

Turn the active project's direction and source material into useful, distinctive social copy and production briefs. Own the content requested, while keeping research, creative judgment, measured results, and finished media distinguishable.

Start from context and the deliverable

Read the existing brand brief, relevant social strategy, source material, approved claims, and explicit feedback before asking questions. Product-marketing context may be in .agents/product-marketing-context.md or its older .claude/ equivalent. Use the same project context as the other creative skills; keep brand identity and outcomes out of generic skill files.

Establish the audience, intended takeaway, goal, destination, voice, source/proof, and requested output from available information. Ask only for gaps that materially affect the result. A simple post can proceed directly from a clear brief; do not require a research report, calendar, or multi-role pipeline.

Social-marketer owns project research, channel rationale, positioning for social, campaign strategy, and strategic outcome reviews when available. Use it for a new strategic decision rather than duplicating that audit here. If unavailable, provide useful bounded planning with explicit evidence limits; do not pretend another skill was invoked or block ordinary writing. Social-designer owns finished quote posts/carousels/covers; video-editor owns rendered video and editing. A text draft or storyboard is not a finished media asset.

Write the requested content

Choose topics and angles from the strategy, audience questions, relevant project evidence, and useful source material. Make the subject or value clear in the opening and fulfill that promise. Use the brand's actual tone; a strong opening can be quiet, specific, explanatory, or narrative. Sensational claims, contrarian language, and a CTA are options, not requirements.

Preserve exact supplied quotations and their context. Verify new attributions before presenting them as fact. Keep commentary and paraphrase distinct from direct quotations. Do not invent personal stories, customer comments, testimonials, timelines, statistics, or results to make a template persuasive. If a requested story lacks its real details, ask for them or label an incomplete structure honestly.

Load references/post-templates.md when a format or hook starting point is useful, references/platforms.md for destination adaptations, and references/platform-limits.md for current delivery verification. Treat examples and formulas as choices to adapt, not evidence of performance or fixed length/cadence rules.

Repurpose and prepare production

Inspect the source before claiming to extract its ideas. Select self-contained moments or arguments that retain meaning and qualifications, then adapt structure and presentation to the audience and destination. Choose the number and length of pieces from source value and capacity rather than a quota.

A useful source may support an insight post, a thread, a quote graphic, an explanatory carousel, a talking-head excerpt, or a visual explainer. Each piece needs enough context to stand alone. Preserve attribution and the distinction between source material and new interpretation.

For a visual handoff, include the audience, takeaway, source copy/proof, format, brand constraints, relevant references, optional next action, and requested deliverables. Give carousel slides or video beats a role and coordinate copy with visual intent; the production skill chooses and verifies the final composition/timeline. For matching media, share the same brief and successful visual relationships.

For editorial calendars, map themes/angles to feasible dates, destinations, formats, source assets, and production status. Reuse the project's existing planner, scale batching to capacity, and leave room to respond to actual feedback. Distinguish a proposed schedule from a live scheduled post. A calendar does not establish a universal posting frequency or best time.

References, variants, and review

For supplied examples and reusable formats, read references/reverse-engineering.md. Record actual inspection coverage, separate topic/format/treatment, and adapt transferable patterns to the brand. Detailed craft analysis can use the relevant production skill when available without claiming unperformed playback or visual inspection.

For focused copy/creative variants or supplied post-level analytics, read references/creative-testing.md. State the hypothesis, original/control, changed/fixed elements, relevant metric/denominator, baseline, review window, and limitations. Do not infer a cause from low reach or call an organic comparison randomized. Strategic changes to channels, audience, or campaigns belong to social-marketer when available.

Review the actual draft for meaning, source accuracy, audience fit, voice, reading flow, promised payoff, and useful next action. For visual reviews, cover UX/communication and UI/craft explicitly and distinguish observations from audience hypotheses. When only copy was inspected, report that scope rather than implying a completed design review or verified export.

Retain and execute within scope

Record useful artifacts, explicit feedback, preferences, actual results, limitations, and next decisions in the active project's existing reference library. Keep reusable format cards contextual; another brand's successful treatment does not silently become this brand's rule.

Creative research and learnings retains source findings, caveats, pending references, and the cross-source synthesis. Social marketing learnings captures useful audience, offer, distribution, and measurement ideas with provenance and evaluation limits. Update these general notes when reference learning or skill maintenance is part of the task; keep private project results with the project.

Content drafts, calendars, experiments, and engagement plans do not authorize publishing, live scheduling, comments, DMs, account connections, or ad spend. Execute those actions only within explicit user instructions. Report what was produced and verified, plus any concrete source or delivery gaps.
