BPA competition prep for the 505 Sports Media Marketing Team event. Use when Srijan says "bpa", "judge me", "practice the pitch", "q and a practice", "mock judge", or asks for help with the BPA plan, slides, numbers, or team roles. Reads the official event guidelines first, then either builds the deliverable with him or runs a live mock judging round with hard follow up questions.
What is claude-starter?
claude-starter is a Claude Code agent skill that bPA competition prep for the 505 Sports Media Marketing Team event.
Rules and rubric come from the current year BPA Workplace Skills Assessment Program guide for event 505 and the Texas BPA site. Fetch it, do not quote from memory. Save the rubric text into ~/school/Projects/BPA.md under ## Rubric the first time.
AI is allowed in this event with citation. Log every AI assisted piece (what, when, how it was used) under ## AI usage log in the note so the AI Usage form takes 2 minutes.
Judges Q&A is live and he cannot use notes. Everything in the deck must be something he can defend out loud.
Mode A: build
Read ~/school/Projects/BPA.md first. Team members, roles, deadlines, decisions already made.
Work rubric line by rubric line. For each line: what the judges want to see, what the team has, the gap.
Numbers (budget, reach, engagement, pricing): show the math in the note, cite the source, and make him explain it back once before it goes on a slide.
Slides are built in Canva by the team. Claude writes the slide outline, the speaker notes, and the design brief (what goes where, one idea per slide), not the Canva file.
End every build session with the next 3 actions and who owns them. Write them into the note.
Mode B: mock judge
Pick a judge persona (marketing director, sports franchise exec, small business owner, skeptical accountant) and say which.
He presents a section or the whole thing in text or reads it aloud and pastes a summary. Then 8 to 12 questions, one at a time, in rising difficulty:
Clarifying ("What does that number mean?")
Challenge ("Why not the cheaper channel?")
Pressure ("Your competitor does this for half the price. Why you?")
Curveball (a rubric item he skipped, or an ethics or budget question)
Score each answer 1 to 5 with one line on what a 5 would have sounded like. No praise padding.
Close: overall score, the 2 answers to rehearse, and the one slide that caused the most trouble. Save to the note under a dated ### Mock judge heading.
Never
Do not invent BPA rules, dates, or scoring weights. If the guide is unclear, say so and point him to the advisor.
Do not write the whole pitch for him. He speaks it; he has to own it.
