Prerequisites

Python 3.11+, Backlot CLI, optional MCP-compatible client or official vendor SDKs pointed at the local Backlot base URLs.

Installation

Install or set up from the source-backed instructions:

Install with pip install backlot, import the bundled or project corpus with backlot import --bundled or backlot import my-corpus.jsonl, then run backlot serve and point supported SDKs at http://127.0.0.1:8000. For agent tool access, install pip install "backlot[mcp]" and register backlot mcp with an MCP-compatible client.
