Chocobozzz/PeerTube는 ActivityPub 프로토콜을 기반으로 한 연합형(federated) 동영상 스트리밍 플랫폼으로, 각 인스턴스가 서로 연결되어 독립적으로 운영되면서도 콘텐츠를 공유할 수 있습니다. P2P(Peer-to-Peer) 기술을 웹 브라우저에 직접 적용하여 시청자가 동시에 다른 시청자에게 동영상 조각을 공유함으로써 서버 부하를 줄이고 대역폭을 효율적으로 사용합니다. 이 기술은 WebTorrent와 HLS(HTTP Live Streaming)를 결합한 방식으로 구현되어 있으며, 중앙 집중식 플랫폼에 대한 대안으로서 개인정보 보호와 콘텐츠 소유권에 중점을 둡니다. PeerTube는 Node.js 기반으로 개발되었으며, 연합 웹(ActivityPub 생태계)과의 호환성을 통해 Mastodon, Pleroma 등 다른 ActivityPub 기반 서비스와 상호작용할 수 있습니다.
