How it works
Adeptability reads the SKILL.md from a repository or local directory. It parses the markdown and extracts the instructions, configuration, and any associated files. Then, it writes these into the agent's configuration directory (e.g., .claude/settings.json, .cursorrules, etc.) depending on which agent is detected.
Supported Agents
Adeptability supports the following AI coding agents (and more):
| Agent | Provider |
|---|---|
| Claude Code | Anthropic |
| Cursor | Cursor |
| Copilot | GitHub/Microsoft |
| Codex | OpenAI |
| OpenCode | Community |
| ... 40+ others | - |
Safety Scanner
Each skill is scanned for potentially dangerous instructions before installation. The scanner checks for:
- Execution of arbitrary code
- Access to sensitive files
- Network calls to unknown hosts
- System modification commands
If a risky instruction is found, the installation is blocked and a warning is displayed.
Drift Detection
Adeptability computes a content hash of the installed skill and compares it with the remote source. If the remote source has changed, the user is notified and can choose to update.
