Skill — Short-Form Hook Lab
Goal
Generate 10 hook variants, score, then write the ≤ 60s script around the winner.
Hook archetypes (aim for diversity across all 10)
- Contrarian claim ("Everyone is wrong about X.")
- Specific stat ("93% of X is actually Y.")
- Curiosity gap ("The reason no one tells you about X...")
- Identity trigger ("If you're a Y, you need to know...")
- Social proof ("I studied 100 Xs. Here's what they all have in common.")
- Stakes ("Doing X is costing you $Y per year.")
- Demo opener (visual proof — flag to Reel)
- Question loop ("Why does X happen? It's not what you think.")
- Listicle tease ("Three X no one is talking about — number 2 will...")
- Confession / vulnerability ("I wasted 2 years doing X wrong.")
Scoring (0-10 each)
- Specificity
- Emotional charge
- Novelty (against swipe file)
- Platform fit (TikTok vs Reels vs Shorts vs X)
Script shape after hook is chosen
hook (0-2s) → reason-to-stay (2-5s) → value beats (5-45s, ≤ 3s per cut) → CTA (last 3-5s)
