What does validator-quotes do?

The Muse launch was validated by technical founders and CEOs — Tobi Lütke ("looks very strong"), Patrick Collison, Ivan Zhao, DHH, Miguel de Icaza, Garry Tan — whose audiences trust their judgment more than any brand account. Borrowed credibility, deployed correctly, is the highest-leverage launch asset there is.

Who to approach

  • Technical founders and operators whose followers are your buyers. Their quote carries weight because they could have built it themselves.
  • One per domain. Commerce, dev tools, design, media: each validator unlocks a new audience. Five validators in the same niche is one validator five times.
  • People with a track record of honest takes. A validator known for blunt criticism makes praise believable. A validator who praises everything makes praise worthless.

Earning the quote

  • Give real access early. A working product in their hands beats a pitch deck in their inbox.
  • Don't send talking points. Scripted quotes read as scripted. Ask what they actually did with it and what surprised them.
  • Accept lukewarm. "Looks very strong" from Lütke outperformed most press releases. A genuine mild positive beats a fake rave, and pushing for more burns the relationship.
  • Make it easy to say no. The quotes you get from people who felt free to decline are the ones worth amplifying.

Deploying the quote

  • Quote-post, one validator per post (see testimonial-launch for the mechanics). Steady cadence over launch week.
  • Keep their exact words. Don't polish, don't excerpt misleadingly. Their voice is the asset.
  • Tag and thank. Small courtesy, large algorithmic and relational return.
  • Pair with the artifact. Validator quote + the demo or outcome it refers to (see mundane-demos) is the complete unit.

What not to do

  • Never fabricate, embellish, or selectively edit a quote into a stronger claim than the person made.
  • Never imply endorsement from a private conversation. If it wasn't public, ask before quoting.
  • Don't stack all validators on day one. Spread them across the launch window to sustain momentum.
