Mine patent innovation points and generate disclosure documents with editable diagrams, supporting plain-language interpretation and office action assistance.

What is patent-disclosure-skill?

This skill is a comprehensive patent assistant for developers and patent professionals. It helps mine innovative points from an invention, conduct novelty searches, draft full disclosure documents (交底书), and iterate them. The skill supports multiple patent types (utility, design, invention) and outputs documents with editable diagrams (including hand-sketches, CAD, formulas, Word exports). It also provides a plain-language patent reader mode that explains patents in simple terms with visual maps, and an office action (OA) assistant for responding to patent examiners' opinions. The skill is organized as a family of sub-skills, each with its own SKILL.md: patent disclosure, patent search, patent reading, patent office action, and policy briefing. The system enforces strict routing: disclosure generation does not automatically trigger policy briefings or OA, and cross-package tool calls are forbidden—each sub-skill uses its own local copy. It runs on platforms that support agent skills such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex, and requires Python scripts for browser/WAF handling and markdown-to-Word conversion.

China Patent Skill

Follow the user's intent: Read the corresponding SKILL.md entry, then execute the flow according to that process.

CapabilityWhat It DoesWhen to EnterEntry
DisclosureMine patent points → novelty search → draft → iteratePatent mining, disclosure document, novelty search, utility model, design patent; /patent-disclosure-skill, /disclosureskills/patent-disclosure/SKILL.md
SearchAdvanced query on the publication site (inventor/assignee/classification/name, etc.)Query publication announcements by bibliographic fields, personal public list; /patent-search. Do not default to flipping through all pages for normal multi-condition searchesskills/patent-search/SKILL.md
ReadPublication number / PDF / full text → plain-language notes + diagramsRead a patent, publication number or PDF with the goal of understanding; /patent-read, /read-patentskills/patent-reader/SKILL.md
Office ActionOffice action Q&A and draft; guide for warehouse entry/distillation when library is thinMust be explicit: office action, OA, case entry, practice book, /oaskills/patent-oa/SKILL.md
Policy BriefingCompare with CNIPA policies, explain impact on disclosure writing/current draft; skill modification is only a bypassMust be explicit: policy briefing, policy radar, /policy-briefing, /patent-brief, /patent-exam-policy. "Skill Evolution / /patent-evolve" same entry, still outputs briefing firstskills/patent-exam-policy/SKILL.md

Routing

  • Form filling, hand-drawn diagrams, CAD, formulas, Word image output are in the disclosure package prompts/ and tools/; form-filling for reading uses the reader package prompts/fill_*; WAF handler browser.py, markdown-to-Word converter md_to_docx.py – each package carries its own copy.
  • Cross-package calls to other sub-skills' tools/ are forbidden. If the same capability is needed, use the local copy in this package.
  • Patent number or PDF with the intent to "understand" → prioritize reading, do not run disclosure Steps 1–8.
  • Do not automatically enter policy briefing or office action just because you are writing a disclosure or reading a patent.
  • Disclosure Step 5 (novelty search) only uses the disclosure package's lightweight search (one term, one page); when performing bibliographic searches by inventor/assignee etc., use only the search package; do not mix the two.

Directory Structure

Environment & Conventions

  • Default language: User-facing search lists, disclosure documents, readings, and office actions use Simplified Chinese; script machine-readable prefixes and JSON field names remain stable.
  • Script evaluation (especially Windows): Text in stderr does not mean failure. Only exit code 0 and machine-readable prefixes count: EPUB_HITS_JSON: / EPUB_SEARCH_MD: / EPUB_SEARCH_JSON: / EPUB_CLASS_HINT:, PROBE: / BROWSER:, MERMAID: / DOCX:. PowerShell may label stderr as NativeCommandError; do not rerun installation or downgrade novelty search to WebSearch because of this.
  • Patent type: When not explicitly specified, disclosure defaults to invention.
  • Script paths: Relative to the root of this skill repository (where this file is located). Whole repo: python skills/patent-disclosure/tools/…. When the current working directory is not this repo, prepend the skill installation directory to the command. When a sub-package is copied out alone, use python tools/… within that package. Do not write vendor environment variables.
  • User output: Write to the current workspace outputs/ directory (reading: outputs/patent_reader/, search: outputs/patent-search/, policy: outputs/exam-policy/, OA: outputs/oa/); do not write to the skill installation directory or tmp/. Use the workspace root as cwd when calling scripts; use the above relative paths for -o / -w.

Pre-Execution Checklist

□ Has Read the corresponding skills/*/SKILL.md, not treating this file as the body of a disclosure/search/reading
□ Disclosure novelty search did not call patent-search
□ Bibliographic search did not use disclosure's one-term-one-page result pretending to be a list
□ Policy Briefing / Office Action entered only on explicit trigger
□ No cross-package calls to other sub-skills' tools/
□ Policy Briefing not mistaken for skill modification; no directory outside the disclosure package was modified without being pointed out
